What is Shade-Grown Coffee?
Shade-grown coffee is a method of cultivation where coffee plants are grown under a canopy of native trees and other plants, which mimics the natural ecosystem and provides a habitat for wildlife, preserving biodiversity. The use of shade also protects the plants from the sun, reducing water loss and the need for chemical fertilizers, and improves soil health. This method not only benefits the environment but also results in superior taste, characterized by complexity, acidity, and aroma.
What is Arabica Coffee?
Arabica coffee is a high-quality coffee plant with complex flavors and aromas, including fruit, chocolate, and nuts. It has a milder and less bitter taste than Robusta, and requires specific growing conditions such as higher altitude and milder temperatures. The unique and refined flavor profile of Arabica beans is due to these conditions. Additionally, Arabica plants are less resistant to pests and diseases and less likely to be treated with pesticides, making them a more environmentally friendly option.
Who is Behind this Project?
In addition to being a family-run coffee farm, we are proud to use local talent to develop our product, from designers, to roasters, printers, and logistics planners.
By using the talent from our coffee growing community, we are not only producing a high-quality product but also investing in the future of our community. From our family growing the beans, to the designers who create the packaging, to the roasters who bring out the unique flavors and aromas of the beans, we are committed to using local talent and supporting our community.
This project is a true representation of our community's hard work, dedication, and passion for coffee.
